From minis and foals to warmbloods and draft horses, donkeys to mules (even an okapi!), all types of equines, (and the occasional zoo animal), have found comfort and protection in the Sneaker's soft padding and cushioned inner sole.

         While used extensively on foundered horses and those with severe injuries, including total loss of the hoof wall, Sabre Sneakers are also very useful for the most common and less serious hoof problems.  Dealing with stone bruises, abscesses and lost shoes is much less work and hassle with the easy on/ easy off, washable Sneaker. The flexible and softly padded "high-top" design keeps the damaged hoof, and any bandaging, clean and totally protected. And importantly, because no one wants to keep a horse stall bound if it doesn't have to be, Sabre Sneakers ARE recommended for turn out!

To choose the correct size, measure across the bottom of the hoof, from side to side...at the widest part.  Sneakers should fit snugly;  you should bot be able to rotate it by hand when the lace is secured.  The soft padding inside the Sneaker allows for the normal hoof growth of a trim/shoeing cycle:

ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can Sabre Sneakers be used for riding?
The New Rehab Boot is designed to be one boot that can take a horse from stall rest to hand walking and turn out to a return to light exercise, such as slow, quiet riding or lungeing.  Over the years, many customers have used them in different riding situations. That said, it is not designed to be a heavy duty riding boot. If you are specifically looking for a hoof boot for long or fast paced riding, you would be better served choosing one of several good boots on the market made for that purpose.

How long do they last?
That depends on a number of variables.  Your terrain, your horse's activity level and the care you give the Sneaker are just some of them.  Sabre Sneakers are very durable, but things like stomping at flies all day will eventually wear out steel shoes, so of course they will be wearing on any boot.

Can they be worn over shoes?
Yes.  This may possibly cause some extra wear on boot's interior.

Are they washable?
Yes.  Hand washing and rinsing is the quickest way.  In between washs, just brush them off with a stiff brush.

Are they easy to put on?
YES!  The new design makes them EXTREMELY easy to slip on and take off.

How long can they be worn?
The simple answer is to use them when you need them, take them off when you don't. Your use will depend on the type of hoof problem you are dealing with and your vet's or farrier's recommendations.  A typical use might be to use them for turn out during the day , then take them off when the horse comes in for the night. However you use them, be sure to remove them at least daily to clean and/or treat and observe the hoof.

Can they be used over bandages, with pads, wedges, etc.?
Definitely!  Although most Sneakers are used "as is", they are designed to be easily  worn over bandages and to allow easy insertion and removal of just about any type of pad, wedge or other addition your vet or farrier may want to use.
