This is our TOP selling sheet!!!! Here are just A FEW of the reasons it is:
First of all, it's waterproof poly outer shell makes ice, snow and rain...roll right off! AND...without a backseam, there are no leaks!
Secondly...The shoulder gussets, with a very generous seam that opens wide when the horse moves, ELLIMINATES the shoulder rubbing other sheets and blankets can cause, making the area hairless and sometimes becoming sore and raw from the constant rubbing, especially when left on for long periods of time (like you need to do in the winter especially in the more Northern States).
Thirdly...The crossed sircingles with elastic ends along with the adjustable legstraps...make it EXTREMELY difficult for the "escape artist" to take his blanket off! How many times have you gone out to feed on a cold winter morning...to find your horse standing there "naked and shivering" with his blanket laying on the ground or under his feet...all stomped on?
Another reason...the double buckle in the front enables for a 3 inch (plus/minus) adjustment in size. This could come in handy for a variety of reasons including weight gain or loss and double blanketing (if you need to body clip in the dead of winter for a show and feel that you should "layer clothing!")
The tail piece is put on the sheet in such a way that your horse is STILL able to move his tail without the restraint other tail pieces cause.
The neck hole is snug and does not sit low on the neck causing more comfort on cold windy days and nights. The fleece wither protection adds to the comfort at the mane plus deters rubbing from the sheet in that area.

We have a total of 25 minis (all pets) and they range from 20 inches tall to 36 inches. These Polar shield blankets are the best blankets. I got our first set locally at a clearance sale, and have been internet shopping for the last three years to increase our inventory. They fit the little guys so well, and i love the little black skirt around the bottom. I have tried other blankets and found them on the ground, up around their necks and in some of the strangest ways where they get loose and move around our horses. I have to this date never seen one of our horses get out of one of these blankets. Last winter when we actually got snow here in Georgia for two days, the little guys with the Polar Shield blankets were actually sweating under their coats, the other ones were shivering and we had to put them in the garage (the barn hadn't been built yet). Good luck and don't be in a rush for us....it hasn't got cold enough to worry yet.

The easiest way to determine the size needed is to take a side measurement. Start from the middle of the chest and measure around one side to the rump (next to edge of the tail). That measurement is the size of the blanket or sheet needed. If the measurement is a 42, you would order a 42 blanket or sheet! The front adjustment will allow additional room as needed (for growth or if double blanketing).
